ISSUE
Use of tap water in some geographic areas or municipalities can lead to unacceptable scaling and/or corrosion protection of the cooling system, as well
as decreased coolant pump life.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Prior to using available tap water for the final flush of a cooling system, verify the water quality is acceptable using water quality test strips Rotunda part
number 328-00007.
1. Collect about 8 oz. (237 mL) of tap water in a clean cup. Water sample temperature must be between 50 °F (10 °C) and 130 °F (54 °C).
2. Remove test strip from the foil sealed packet. Do not touch the pads at the end of the strip.
3. Dip the strip in the water sample for five (5) seconds with a gentle back and forth motion. Remove the strip and shake briskly to remove excess
liquid.
