Balance Shaft: Description and Operation
The engine dynamic balance shaft is driven by a camshaft gear and rotates in an opposite direction of the crankshaft to reduce vibration. The large end of
the connecting rod is mechanically split to produce a unique parting face. This produces a locking joint. Connecting rods and connecting rod caps are not
interchangeable.
