6. Apply Silicone Rubber E7TZ-19562-A or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESL-M4G273-A to the surface of the axle housing cover.
CAUTION: Clean both the axle housing cover mounting surface and the axle housing cover flat surface with a suitable solvent, to remove all
traces of oil film.
NOTE: This axle housing cover requires the use of a silicone rubber sealant material rather than a gasket.
NOTE: The axle housing cover must be installed within 15 minutes of application of the silicone or new sealant must be applied.
7. Assemble two cover bolts into the axle housing cover at 8 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions. Use these two holes to guide the axle housing cover into
position.
8. Install the remaining axle housing cover bolts.

Tighten alternately and evenly.
9. Fill the rear axle housing with the specified amount of Premium Rear Axle Lubricant XY-80W90-QL or equivalent meeting Ford specification
WSP-M2C197-A.
NOTE: Allow 1 hour cure time before filling the rear axle with the proper amount of specified lubricant and operating the vehicle.
NOTE: Check the rear axle tag to verify whether the axle receives regular or synthetic lubricant.
