Removal and Installation
One Piece
Removal
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. To maintain driveline balance, index the driveshaft flange yoke to the pinion flange.
3. Remove the driveshaft.

Remove the four driveshaft-to-pinon flange bolts, and lower the driveshaft.

NOTE: Index-mark the slip-yoke to transmission output shaft.
Slide the driveshaft rearward off the transmission output shaft.

Plug the extension housing to prevent fluid loss.
Installation
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Inspect the extension housing seal for damage. Install new if necessary.
3. Lubricate the slip-yoke spline with Premium Long-Life Grease XG- 1-C or -K or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESA-M1C75-B.
