18. Connect the following vacuum connections.

Fuel pressure regulator vacuum connector (not shown on 4.6L illustration)

Engine vacuum regulator vacuum connector
3
EGR vacuum connector
4
Vapor management valve vacuum connector
19. Connect the EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube upper fitting.
On 4.6L engines, tighten both fittings starting at the top in two stages.

Hand tighten.
*
Tighten to 35-45 Nm (26-33 ft. lbs.).
On 5.4L engines, tighten both fittings starting at the top in three stages.

Hand tighten.
*
Tighten the upper fitting to 35-45 Nm (26-33 ft. lbs.).
*
Tighten the lower fitting to 55-65 Nm (41-47 ft. lbs.).
