NOTICE: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while
cleaning gasket surfaces that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan, may cause engine failure.
NOTE: This procedure is for removal of the crankshaft rear seal and retainer plate and requires removal of the oil pan. If only removing the crankshaft
rear seal, refer to Crankshaft Rear Seal See: Crankshaft Rear Seal.
1. Remove the oil pan. For additional information, refer to Oil Pan See: Engine Lubrication/Oil Pan/Service and Repair/Oil Pan - Removal.
2. Using the Heavy Duty Floor Crane and Spreader Bar, remove the engine from the stand.
3. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
