Removal
WARNING: Use care when handling the front passenger seat and track assembly. Dropping the assembly, placing excessive weight on or sitting
on a front passenger seat that is not secured in the vehicle may result in damaged seat components. Failure to follow these instructions may
result in incorrect operation of the occupant classification sensor (OCS) system and increases the risk of serious personal injury or death in a
crash.
NOTE: The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the correct Restraints Control Module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition is ON.
NOTE: The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
All Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) weight sensor bolts
1. Remove the manual seat track.
2. NOTE: After marking the seat track rails, do not change the position of the seat track.
Mark the position of both seat track rails.
Inboard OCS weight sensor bolt(s)
3. Remove the nut and safety belt buckle.
All OCS weight sensor bolt(s)
4. NOTE: Outboard front cross brace screws shown, inboard similar.
On the side with the affected Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) I-bolt(s), remove the 2 front cross brace screws.
5. On the side with the affected OCS weight sensor bolt(s), disengage the seat adjuster handle spring and position it aside.
6. Separate the seat adjuster handle from the affected side of the seat track rail with the OCS weight sensor bolt(s).
