ISSUE
Some 2008-2009 Escape and Mariner vehicles built on or before 03/31/2009 and equipped with heated exterior rear view mirrors may exhibit a glass
thermal stress crack when mirror defrost is powered on.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Replace the exterior mirror glass only if there's no evidence of impact damage. (Figure 1) Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 501-09 for removal and
installation.
