Removal and Installation

WARNING:

When carrying an undeployed pyrotechnic pretensioner always hold by the barrel or buckle. Do not hold by the stem.
Remove

NOTE:

The front seat pyrotechnic pretensioners are initiated by the same signal. Both units will deploy in the event of a frontal impact regardless of whether a passenger is present.
1. Remove the front seat (refer to Operation Number 40 100 0).

2. Release the pretensioner wiring (two clips).

CAUTION:

The Torx bolt securing the pyrotechnic pretensioner to the seat frame is held captive by a paper washer. The Torx bolt should remain on the pyrotechnic pretensioner at all times when the assembly is removed from the seat.
3. Remove the pyrotechnic pretensioner (one Torx bolt).
Install
4. Refit the components in reverse order ensuring the stalk buckle is angled towards the seat.
