Removal and Installation
Remove

CAUTION:

Disconnect the battery negative lead.

CAUTION:

When disconnecting the multiplugs covered in this operation, do not pull on the wiring; pull on the multiplug body.
1. Remove the door panel trim (refer to Operation Number 43 705 0).

NOTE:

Using a plastic knife (disposable cutlery) cut through the butyl strip to enable the protective watershield to be removed from the door. Do not attempt to peel the watershield from the door without cutting the butyl strip.
2. Remove the door watershield.

3. Disconnect the door ajar switch multiplug.
1. Depress the retainer.
2. Disconnect the multiplug.

4. Cut the cable tie.

5. Disconnect the door locking multiplug.
1. Depress the retainer.
2. Disconnect the multiplug.

6. Remove the door lock barrel shield (two screws).
7. Detach and remove the key activated door lock switch (refer to Operation Number 33 506 0).

8. Remove the retaining clip.

9. Remove the door lock barrel.
   Carefully remove the lock barrel, detaching the actuator pin from the lock actuator.

10. Remove the interior remote handle.
1. Remove the screw.
2. Slide the handle rearwards to disengage the clip and detach the handle.

11. Detach the lock assembly (three screws)

12. Feed the remote handle assembly through the lower door aperture.

13. Remove the lock assembly through the lower door aperture together with the remote handle assembly.

14. Disconnect the wiring retaining clips.

15. Remove the door lock shield (two screws).

16. Remove the door lock motor (two screws).

17. Remove the remote door handle Bowden cable.
1. Detach the cable and turn through 90°.
2. Lift the cable to remove from the quadrant.
Install

18. Refit the components in reverse order.
1. Refit the barrel.
2. Ensure the lock barrel actuating pin aligns with the lock actuator.
