Removal and Installation
Remove

CAUTION:

If hydraulic fluid is spilled on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.

1. Remove the roof frame recess cover (three screws).
2. Lower the roof.

3. Remove the luggage compartment side trim panel (two clips).

CAUTION:

Disconnect the battery negative lead.
4. Remove the rear quarter trim panel (refer to Operation Number 43 731 0).

5. Roll the floor covering forwards.
1. Raise the rear seat cushion.
2. Roll the floor covering forwards to prevent accidental damage.

6. Turn the by‐pass tap through 90° to 180° maximum to release the system pressure and release the filler plug.

7. Place a suitable container under the hydraulic ram, and slacken the pipe unions.

8. Remove the circlip.

9. Remove the lower support bracket (one nut).

10. Remove the circlip.

CAUTION:

When disconnected ensure the pipes are placed in a container to prevent fluid loss in the vehicle.
11. Remove the securing tape detach the pipe unions and remove the hydraulic pipes.

12. Remove the hydraulic ram.
Install
13. Refit the components in reverse order.
14. Bleed hydraulic system (refer to Operation Number 43 591 5).
