Removal and Installation

Remove

CAUTION:

Disconnect the battery negative lead.

1. Remove the luggage compartment side trim panel (two clips).

2. Turn the bypass tap 90° to 180° maximum to release system pressure and release the filler plug.

CAUTION:

When disconnecting multiplugs do not pull on the wiring; pull or the multiplug body.

3. Disconnect the multiplug.

4. Locally detach the right‐hand and left‐hand hydraulic pipe retaining clips.

5. Detach the hydraulic pump (two nuts).

CAUTION:

Ensure any open pipes/unions are sealed to prevent the ingress of dirt. Use clean plastic bags or blanking plugs.

6. Place the hydraulic pump into a suitable container to prevent fluid spillage.

1. Ensure the hydraulic pipes are clearly marked.

2. Disconnect the hydraulic pipes.

CAUTION:

Do the not allow hydraulic fluid to spill/drip onto vehicle when removing the pump assembly.

7. Remove the hydraulic pump.

Install

8. Refit the components in reverse order. Ensure the hydraulic pipes are correctly routed.

1. Left‐hand lower hydraulic ram.

2. Right‐hand lower hydraulic ram.

3. Left‐hand upper hydraulic ram.

4. Right‐hand upper hydraulic ram.

9. Bleed the system (refer to Operation Number 43 519 5).
