Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

WARNING: DO NOT smoke or carry an open flame of any type while working on or near any fuel related component(s). 

Fuel Rail

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Relieve fuel system pressure see Fuel Pressure Release Procedure.  See: Fuel Filter/Fuel Pressure Release/Service and Repair 

3. Disconnect fuel pressure and return line spring lock couplings

NOTE: Use a rag as protection from the fuel spray when disconnecting the hoses. Plug the hoses after disconnection.

4. Disconnect PCV hose from intake plenum and cylinder head cover.

5. Disconnect fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose.
