Differential: Service and Repair

DISASSEMBLE 

Exploded View Of Differential

1. Remove roll pin, then the pinion shaft.
2. Remove pinions and thrust washers by rotating out of gear case.
3. Remove side gears and thrust washers.

Differential Bearing Cone Removal

4. Remove bearing cone (speedometer drive gear end) using gear and pulley puller tool No. D80L-522-A, step plate tool No. D80L-630-3, and

bearing puller attachment tool No. D84L-1123-A, or equivalent, with legs from puller set tool No. D80L-927-A, or equivalent.

5. Remove speedometer drive gear, then the bearing cone (ring gear end) using puller tool No. T77F-4220-B1 and step plate tool No. D80L-630-3,

or equivalents.
