Wheel Hub: Service and Repair
Front Hub & Steering Knuckle Assembly
1.
Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheel, brake caliper and rotor.
2.
Remove nut securing halfshaft to hub, then remove outer tie rod at steering knuckle.
3.
Remove nuts and bolts securing shock/strut assembly to steering knuckle, then separate shock/strut assembly from steering knuckle.
4.
Remove nut and bolt securing lower ball joint to steering knuckle, then separate ball joint from steering knuckle.
5.
Remove front hub/steering knuckle assembly from halfshaft.
6.
Reverse procedure to install. Torque ball joint nut to 32-43 ft. lbs., shock/strut assembly bolts to 69-93 ft. lbs. and front hub nut to 174-235 ft. lbs.
