Throttle Body: Service and Repair
REMOVAL:
1.
Remove the air intake tube from the throttle body.
2.
Disconnect the throttle position sensor and air bypass valve connectors.
3.
Remove the vacuum hose from the bottom side of the throttle body.
4.
Remove the accelerator cable and kickdown cable (automatic transaxle only) from the throttle lever.

5.
Remove the four throttle body mounting bolts.
6.
Carefully separate the throttle body from the intake manifold.
7.
Remove the gasket and discard.
8.
Clean the gasket sealing surfaces, being careful not to damage the sealing surfaces of the throttle body or intake manifold assemblies or allow
material to drop into the manifold.
INSTALLATION:
1.
Be sure the throttle body and intake manifold gasket surfaces are clean.
2.
Position a new gasket and the throttle body on the intake manifold.
3.
Install the four throttle body mounting bolts and tighten to 20-30 Nm (15-22 lb.ft).
4.
Install the accelerator cable and kickdown cable on the throttle lever.
5.
Connect the air bypass valve and the throttle position sensor electrical connectors.
6.
Install the vacuum line on the bottom side of the throttle body.
7.
Install the air intake tube.
