Installing 3-4 Clutch Pack
6. Install 3-4 clutch pack, then the retaining plate with step facing upward.

7. Measure clearance of snap ring and retaining plate of 3-4 clutch. clearance should be 0.051-0.059 inch. If clearance is not as specified, select a
retaining plate, from the 3-4 Clutch Pressure Plate Thickness Chart, which will bring clearance to specification.
8. Check clutch operation as follows:
a. Apply 57 psi or less of compressed air through fluid Passages.
CAUTION: Do not apply compressed air for more than three seconds.
b. Fill clutch drum with transmission fluid, ensure 3-4 clutch piston is fully submerged.
d. Ensure no air bubbles come from 3-4 clutch piston seal when applying compressed air.
e. Lubricate bearings, then install them on both sides of 3-4 clutch drum.
