Fuel Injection Supply Manifold Assembly: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1.
Remove fuel tank cap and release pressure from fuel system at fuel pressure relieve valve.
2.
Remove spring lock coupling retainer clips from fuel inlet and return fittings.
3.
Disconnect fuel supply and fuel return lines.
4.
Disconnect wiring harness from injectors.
5.
Remove two fuel injector manifold retaining bolts.
6.
Carefully disengage manifold from fuel injectors.
7.
Disconnect vacuum line from fuel pressure regulator valve and remove manifold.
INSTALLATION
NOTE: When installing fuel rail assemblies with new or used injectors particular attention should be paid to proper O-ring seating to ensure that no fuel
leaks exist.
1.
Push fuel rail down to ensure all injector O-rings are fully seated in the fuel rail cups and intake manifold.
2.
Install retaining bolts while holding fuel rail down. Tighten bolts to 15-22 lb. ft. (20-30 N-m).
3.
Install spring-lock couplings.
4.
With injector wiring disconnected, turn ignition to the RUN position to allow the fuel pump to pressurize the system.
5.
Using a clean towel check for fuel leaks.
6.
Connect fuel injector wiring harness. Run vehicle at idle for two minutes.
7.
Turn engine OFF and inspect for leaks.
