This TSB article is being republished in its entirety to expand the model application to include the 1987 Lynx.
ISSUE:
A no start or stall condition may be caused by a fuel pump shut-off switch (inertia switch) that has been activated. The switch is intended to
shut off the fuel supply in the event of a collision. However, the switch may be activated by a jolt, like slamming the left rear door or hitting a
large bump or pot hole.
ACTION:
Relocate the inertia switch to an area that is less sensitive to bumps and jolts. Refer to the following procedure for service details.
1. Park the car on level ground for correct installation of the inertia switch bracket.
2. Remove the trim panel that covers the inertia switch.
