The check ball locations and illustrations, as shown by engine applications on pages 17-25-82 and 17-25-83 of the 1988 and 1989
Tempo/Topaz/Escort Shop Manuals, have been revised. The ATX main control assembly uses seven check balls for both 1.9L and 2.3L
engine applications.
ACTION:
Refer to the pages following this TSB article for revised information. This information should be inserted in your 1988 and 1989
Tempo/Topaz/Escort Shop Manuals, pages 17-25-82 and 17-25-83.

Position spring retainer washer and cushion spring on piston rod. Install spring and rod assembly in servo piston.
2.
Compress cushion spring, and install retaining clip.
