1.
Install V-ribbed alternator belt on pulleys.
2.
Install an open-end wrench over the alternator adjustment boss and apply tension, Figure 11.
3.
Using a belt tension gauge, set belt to correct tension: new belt 150-190 lbs. (667-845 N), used alternator belt 120-160-lbs. (532-712 N).
4.
Secure alternator pivot, leaving it loose enough to allow alternator to move. While maintaining proper belt tension, torque alternator adjustment
bolt to 24-34 ft.lbs. (33-46 N-m).
