ISSUE:
A 200 engine RPM idle roll may be caused by water entering the eight (8) pin 12A581 wire harness connector. Large amounts of water
entering the connector could cause a bridging condition between nearby terminals located inside the connector. The bridging condition
causes false signals to be sent to the EEC IV processor.
ACTION:
Modify the connectors by removing the terminals for the #11 circuit and fasten them together. Refer to the following procedure for service
details.

1.
Locate the eight (8) pin connector on the right hand shock tower, Figure 13.
2.
Separate the connector halves and remove the terminals for the #11 circuit (DARK GREEN/ YELLOW WIRE) from each connector half.
3.
Fasten the two terminals removed in Step 2 together and insulate them using heat shrink tubing or electrical tape.
4.
Reconnect the eight (8) pin connector.
5.
Check the engine for proper idle speed.
