NOISE -"CLICKING" FROM EXHAUST SYSTEM - VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE 09/15/87

FORD:

1987-88 ESCORT/EXP

LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1987 LYNX

ISSUE:

A loud "clicking" noise from the front underside of the vehicle when accelerating or shifting gears may be caused by the push-on nuts used on
the exhaust system during initial assembly.

ACTION:

To correct this, remove the push-on nuts using the following service procedure.
