ISSUE:
A "chirp" or "swish" noise from the right and/or left hand rear shock during vehicle operation may be caused by inadequate rear shock sound
insulation.
ACTION:
To correct this, install two (2) rear shock insulators using the following service procedure.
1.
Check to make sure noise is from rear shocks by road testing or firmly bouncing vehicle with liftgate open.

Remove both trim panels for access to shock upper mounts, Figure 2.
a.
3-Door or 5-Door:
Remove rear seat speaker grille and speaker on vehicles so equipped. Without rear speakers, remove quarter trim
panel extension.
b.
Station Wagon:
Remove quarter trim panel attaching screws and access plate. Carefully unclip trim panel from upper retainers and
lift panel up.
