Pilot Bearing: Service and Repair

Bearing - Pilot 

Special Tool(s) 

Removal 

1. Remove the flywheel.
2. Inspect the transaxle input shaft pilot bearing for:

Misaligmnent and looseness in the crankshaft.

^

Needle rollers for scoring, worn or broken rollers, inadequate grease or discoloration.

^

Seal leakage.

3. NOTE:  Only replace the transaxle input shaft bearing if it is damaged.

Remove the transaxle input shaft bearing.

Install the Puller.

Remove the transaxle input shaft bearing.

4. Clean the transaxle input shaft with a wire brush.
5. Inspect the transmission input shaft for:

Buffs.
