Remove flywheel timing mark cover.
2.
Remove rear timing belt cover.
3.
Rotate crankshaft pulley two revolutions clockwise until flywheel TDC timing mark aligns with pointer on rear cover plate, Fig. 17. Ensure
injection pump and camshaft sprocket timing marks are aligned with their marks, Fig. 18.
4.
Torque tensioner locknut to 15---20 ft. lbs.
5.
Using a suitable belt tension gauge, check belt tension, Fig. 20. Belt tension should be 22---33 lbs.
6.
Install rear timing belt cover. Torque the 6 mm rear cover bolts to 5---9 ft. lbs., torque the 8 mm rear cover bolts to 12---16 ft. lbs.
7.
Install flywheel timing mark cover.
