Audible Warning Device: Description and Operation
WARNING CHIME
The safety belt warning chime, also called the Central Processing Unit (CPU) is an audible warning system and timing circuit. The system components
are:

Timing circuit safety belt switch.

Door lamp switches.
^
Safety belt warning indicator switch (an integral part of the front safety belt buckle end).

Ignition switch.
^
Headlamp switch.
Key In Ignition Warning
The warning sounds if the key is left in the ignition switch lock cylinder when either door is opened and the ignition switch is in the LOCK or
OFF position.
Safety Belt Warning
The warning chime sounds and the safety belt warning indicator illuminates when the ignition switch is placed in the ON position and the LH
front safety belt is not buckled.
Headlamp Switch on Warning
The warning chime sounds if the parking lamps or the headlamps are left ON after the key has been removed from the ignition switch lock
cylinder and either front door is opened.
Timer System
The safety belt warning chime controls the duration of the warning chime alarm and safety belt warning indicator illumination.
