9. Note:  Do not remove the tape wrap until after assembly.

Tape the driveshaft splines to avoid damage to the front wheel driveshaft joint boot.

10. Slide the front wheel driveshaft joint boot off of the driveshaft.

11. Clean and inspect the tripod bearing and outboard joint housing for cracks, pitting or scoring; replace if necessary.
