Valve Guide: Service and Repair

    Valve guide reamers are available in oversizes of .003, .015 and .030 in. When reaming a valve guide to an oversize, use the reamer in sequence from
the smallest oversize first, to the next largest, etc. Always reface the valve seat after the valve guide has been reamed and use a suitable tool to remove
the corner that forms on the inner diameter of the top of the valve guide.

Seal Replacement
1.

Install the valves. If installing the original valves, make sure the valve is installed in the position from which it was removed.

2.

Install the valve spring seats and valve stem seals. Use the seal protector provided with the replacement kit to prevent damage to the seals.

3.

Install the valve springs and keepers using Spring Compressor T81P-6513-A or equivalent.
