Lubricate the stabilizer bar from the stabilizer bar end to the insulator contact area with Ford Rubber Insulator Lubricant (E25Y-19553-A).

Apply the lubricant to the inside diameter of both new stabilizer bar rubber insulators.
NOTE:
ONLY use Ford Rubber Insulator Lubricant (E25Y-19553-A).

Install the new stabilizer bar rubber insulators. Refer to the appropriate Car Shop Manual, Section 14 for detailed service procedures.
"CRUNCH" SERVICE PROCEDURE
(Escort/Lynx, Tempo/Topaz)
1.
Thoroughly spray the stabilizer bar to body insulators with water.
2.
Drive the vehicle about 10 to 15 mph (16 to 24 km/h) and apply the brakes to simulate a quick panic stop. Repeat applying the brakes several
times to confirm "crunch" noise. If "crunch" noise is present, proceed to Step 3.
3.
Raise vehicle.
4.
Remove the right front stabilizer mounting U-bracket bolts and throw away the bolts.
5.
Remove the left front stabilizer mounting U-bracket bolts and throw away the bolts.
6.
Thoroughly dry the inside of the U-brackets and outside surface of the rubber insulators.
