ISSUE
Some 1999-2004 Super Duty F-Series and 2000-2004 Excursion vehicles built before 5/10/2004 with a 7.3L or 6.0L diesel engine and 2000-2005
F650/750 vehicles built before 5/20/2004 may exhibit a vacuum pump that is inoperative or continuously running. If the pump is inoperative, the climate
control system will default to defrost mode and the 4X4 system may also be affected.
ACTION
To service an inoperative or continuously running vacuum pump, replace with a new pump. Before replacing check for and repair any vacuum line leaks.
