Using the diameter drill specified in Figure 16, measure the clearance between the downstream side of the primary choke plate and the flat area of
the airhorn wall.

Set choke plate pulldown to the dimension specified at Figure 16. If an adjustment is required, turn the vacuum diaphragm adjusting screw in or
out as required.

Install index plate, electric choke cap, and retainer ring and reinstall carburetor as outlined in 1983 Car Shop Manual, Powertrain Escort/Lynx,
EXP/LN7 Section 24-13-9.
