Expedition 2WD V8-5.4L SOHC VIN L (1997)
9. Remove the eight transmission extension housing.
(1) Remove the bolts.
(2) Remove the transmission extension housing.
NOTE: As the fasteners are removed, note the size of each for proper location during installation.
10. Remove and discard the extension housing gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the new extension housing gasket.
NOTE: Lightly lubricate the gasket with petroleum jelly to hold it in place during assembly.
2. Install the eight extension housing bolts.
NOTE: Make sure the fasteners are installed in their proper locations as noted during removal.
