3. Install fluid pan gasket.
(1) Position the gasket onto the fluid pan.
(2) Make sure the magnet is position over the dimple in the fluid pan.
NOTE: Pan gasket is reusable; clean, inspect and reuse unless damaged.
4. Install the fluid pan.
(1) Position the fluid pan.
(2) Install the bolts.
5. Connect the digital transmission range (DTR) sensor harness connector.
6. Lower the vehicle.
NOTE: If equipped with air suspension, reactivate the system by turning on the air suspension switch.
7. Refill the transmission.

Add 6.2 liters (6.5 quarts) of MERCON or MERCON V or equivalent fluid meeting FORD specification.

Start the engine. Move the transmission range selector lever through all the gear ranges.

With the transmission at operating temperature, check and adjust the transmission fluid to the proper level.
