Fan Blade: Service and Repair

REMOVAL    

WARNING: DO NOT RUN THE ENGINE WHILE THE PROTECTIVE COMPONENTS ARE REMOVED.

NOTE: The fan, fan clutch and shroud must be removed as an assembly.

1. Remove the Engine Air Cleaner (ACL).
2. Drain the engine cooling system.

3. Remove the front air deflector.

Remove the screws.

Remove the front air deflector.

4. Remove the upper radiator hose from the radiator.

5. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir hose from the radiator.

Release the (A) hose clamp and slide it away from the end of the (B) hose.

Slide the (A) coolant recovery reservoir hose off the (B) radiator fitting.

6. Remove the fan blade and fan clutch.

Use Fan Clutch Holding Tool to hold the water pump pulley steady.

Use Fan Clutch Wrench to remove the fan blade and the fan clutch.

NOTE: The fan clutch has LH threads.
