Expedition 4WD V8-4.6L SOHC VIN 6 (1997)
4. Remove the differential pinion shaft.
5. Remove the differential pinion thrust washers.
(1) Rotate the differential pinion gears to the differential case window and remove.
(2) Remove the differential pinion thrust washers.
6. Remove the (A) differential side gears and the (B) differential side gear thrust washers.
ASSEMBLY
1. Use Motorcraft SAE 75W90 4x4 Axle Lubricant XY-75W90-QL meeting Ford specification WSP-M2C201-A to lubricate the differential side
gear thrust washers and the differential side gear journals.

Position the (A) differential side gear thrust washers on the (B) differential side gears.
