Fuel Gauge Sender: Description and Operation

PURPOSE

To supply an electrical signal to operate the fuel gauge.

OPERATION

The Sender is a variable resistor connected to a float in the fuel tank, which determines the amount of fuel in tank. When fuel is low, resistance is
low (22.5 ohms); when fuel is high, resistance is high (145 ohms).
