Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module
(PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
2. Open the lift gate, lower, and remove the spare tire.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.
4. Disconnect the chassis emissions return lines from the Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) canister lines.
5. Remove the EVAP canister mounting bolts.
6. Remove the EVAP canister.

Disconnect the EVAP canister vent valve electrical connector.

Remove the EVAP canister.
