Liquid Vapor Separator: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module
(PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may have to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
WARNING: The electrical power supply to the air suspension system must be shut off prior to hoisting, jacking or towing an air
suspension vehicle. This can be accomplished by turning off the air suspension switch located in the rear jack storage area. Failure to do
so may result in unexpected inflation or deflation of the air springs which may result in shifting of the vehicle during these operations.
3. Observe fuel pressure release and fuel draining procedures. Drain the fuel tank.
4. Lower the fuel tank.
5. Remove the Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) hose from the EVAP vapor valve.
6. Remove the EVAP vapor valve. Press down and turn counterclockwise.
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
