Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive
strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy.
2. Remove the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor.

Disconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector.

Remove the screws.

Remove the CKP sensor.
INSTALLATION
NOTE: CKP sensor needs to be touching the damper. CKP sensor has wear tabs that wear off after several engine revolutions.
1. Install the CKP sensor.

Position the CKP sensor.

Install the screws.
3
Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
