4. Install the transmission fluid pan.
(1) Position a new transmission fluid pan gasket on the transmission fluid pan.
(2) Install and align the transmission fluid pan.

Loosely install the 18 transmission fluid pan bolts.
5. Tighten the transmission fluid pan bolts.

Use a crisscross sequence to tighten the transmission fluid pan bolts.
6. Lower the vehicle.
NOTE: If equipped with air suspension, reactivate the system by turning on the air suspension switch.
7. Fill transmission to proper fluid level.

Use MERCON V meeting Ford specification XT-5-QM.
NOTE: When filling a dry transmission and converter start with a minimum of 3.7 liters (4 quarts).
