ISSUE
The transfer case may ingest water through the vent tube while driving through high water. This may be caused by the vent tube not providing adequate
protection against water ingestion.
ACTION
Replace the transfer vent tube with a revised vent tube. The revised tube has been repositioned to reduce the possibility of water ingestion into the
transfer case through the vent tube. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Remove the old transfer case vent tube and discard.
2.
Install a revised vent tube by routing the vent tube along the transmission vent tube.
