16. Attach the restraint system diagnostic tool to the vehicle harness side of the passenger air bag electrical connector.
Vehicles built 03/2002 onward
17. Through the glove compartment opening, release the tab and disconnect the passenger air bag module electrical connector.
18. Attach the restraint system diagnostic tool to the vehicle harness side of the passenger air bag module electrical connector.
Vehicles without side air curtains or safety canopies
19. CAUTION: Do not deactivate the side air curtain/safety canopy module circuit by removing the side air curtain/safety canopy bridge resistor from
the side air curtain/safety canopy electrical connector. If the side air curtain/safety canopy bridge resistor is removed, an open circuit fault will be
generated by the restraints control module (RCM). If a restraint system diagnostic tool is installed at the side air curtain/safety canopy electrical
connector, a low resistance fault will be generated by the RCM.
Vehicles with side air curtains
NOTE: Once the weatherstrip is lowered if retaining clips are present in the doorjamb at the C-pillar pinch weld, the vehicle will be equipped with
side air curtains.
20. Lower the rear RH door opening weatherstrip.
