Ground Strap: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the nut and washer (A) attaching the ground strap (B) to the stud.
3. Remove the fastener from the rear of the intake manifold on 5.0L (shown), rear of the left cylinder head on 4.0L (push rod), or rear of the right
cylinder head on 4.0L (SOHC), and ensure that the mounting surfaces of the studs are free of dirt and corrosion.
