HEATER - FLOOR DUCTS - POOR HEAT DISTRIBUTION ON DRIVER'S SIDE - VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE 2/1/92
LIGHT TRUCK:
1991-92 EXPLORER, RANGER
ISSUE:
Poor heat distribution on the driver's side may result in cold feet or legs. This condition is caused by the floor duct outlets directing air away from the
driver's feet.
ACTION:
Install a new floor duct that provides better directional air flow to the feet and leg area. Refer to the following procedure for service details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE - RANGER
REMOVAL:
1.
Remove the one screw which attaches the rear of the front floor duct to the plenum.
2.
Disengage the front floor duct from the tab on the left side of the plenum and remove the front floor duct.
INSTALLATION:
1.
Position the new front floor duct (F2TZ-18C433-A) so the tab on the left side of the plenum protrudes through the oval hole in the duct.
2.
Install the front floor duct attaching screw.

REMOVAL:
1.
Remove the console and bracket (if applicable).
