To increase RH caster 0.7~, install a 1/4" washer (385795-S2) under the LH front coil spring seat, Figure 2. Then, rotate the RH camber/caster slug
45~ clockwise from it's factory installed position, Figure 3. This will increase the RH caster about 0.7~. RH camber will remain unchanged, while
LH camber will increase about 0.2-0.3~.
3.
To obtain a 1~ caster bias with the radius arm replacement, install a revised radius arm (F1TZ-3A360-C) with a 0.5~ caster bias per arm on vehicles
built prior to 10/90. Vehicles built between 10/90 and 3/91 will obtain a 5~ caster bias (.25~ caster bias/arm) by installing (F1TZ-3A360-C) radius
arm.
A further caster bias may be obtained by biasing the axle position to the radius arm during assembly. This is accomplished by rotating the axle within the
limits of the axle attaching bolts and radius arm hole clearances before tightening the bolts.
Refer to the 1991 Aerostar, Explorer, Ranger Truck Shop Manual, Section 04-00, for the torque specifications when reinstalling the fasteners. Reset the
toe-in to 1/32" total toe-in after completion of the caster and camber adjustments.
