Removal and Installation

Removal 

1. NOTE:  When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms can occur while the vehicle relearns its

adaptive strategy. The customer needs to be notified that they may experience slightly different upshifts either soft or firm and this is a temporary
condition and will eventually return to normal operating condition.

Disconnect the battery ground cable. 

2. Raise and support the vehicle. 
3. Place a drain pan under the transmission fluid pan.

4. NOTE:  If equipped, the transmission servo heat shield needs to be unclipped from the fluid pan rail and positioned out of the way for fluid pan

removal.

If equipped, loosen the nut and position the heat shield out of the way.
