Explorer Sport 4WD V6-245 4.0L SOHC VIN K SFI (2001)
5. Engage the differential pinion gears opposite the differential side gears.
6. Rotate the differential pinion gears to align with the differential pinion shaft bore.
7. Insert the differential pinion shaft.

Align the bolt hole in the differential pinion shaft with the bolt hole in the differential case.
8. NOTE: If a new bolt is unavailable, coat the threads with Threadlock and Sealer EOAZ-19554-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification
WSK-M2G351-A5 prior to installation.
Install a new bolt finger-tight.
