Explorer Sport Trac 4WD V6-245 4.0L SOHC VIN K SFI (2001)
1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
2. At the central junction box (CJB), located on the LH end of the instrument panel, open the kick panel cover and remove the restraints control
module (RCM) fuse F2.6 (7.5A without rear blower, 15A with rear blower) from the CJB. For additional information, refer to the wiring Diagram
Manual.
3. Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301) and wait at least one minute. For additional information, See: Starting and Charging/Battery
Vehicles with seat side air bags
4. Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the driver seat side air bag floor electrical connector.
5. Connect the driver seat side air bag electrical connector and tie-strap the wire harness.
6. Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the passenger seat side air bag floor electrical connector.
7. Connect the passenger seat side air bag electrical connector and tie-strap the wire harness.
Vehicles with seat side air bags and power driver seat
8. WARNING: Be sure that nobody is in the vehicle and that there is nothing blocking or set in front of any air bag module when the
battery ground cable is connected.
