Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) SENSOR
REMOVAL
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Remove the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Remove the bolt.

Remove the sensor.
INSTALLATION
1. NOTE:
-
The new CKP sensor needs to be touching the damper. The new sensor has wear tabs that will wear off after several engine revolutions.
-
Be sure the sensor wiring is routed away from the battery cable.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
